{Grunge Meets Glam}

{Beatles tee: thrifted; plaid shirt worn as a skirt: husband's old A&F; boots: CallItSpring c/o; cuff: Tory Burch; sunnies: HoH1960; bag: vintage YSL; necklace: F21 (old)}

A couple of years ago I was inspired by this photo, and I've been anxious to recreate the look ever since. Kinda crazy that it's taken me this long to finally do it, but I have to say now that I've finally given it a shot, I'm definitely going to try it out with some other shirts. Not to mention, this "tying your man's shirt around your waist and wearing it as a skirt" is incredibly comfortable. ;) I went with a plaid shirt for this look because I wanted an outfit that was mix of grunge and glam. If you want to recreate my look, I highly suggest wearing your boyfriend/fiance/husband/man friend's shirt as the skirt (unless you want to up a couple sizes and wear a women's shirt), and the top you wear should be small in size. I wanted to go grunge, but not frumpy or too grunge-y. This small Beatles tee was a recent thrift find (I'm slightly obsessed with The Beatles, have been since I was a little girl, thanks to my Dad), and this rhinestone necklace was an old F21 purchase. I liked how it added a little glitz to the overall boyish look. I finished off my look with a pair of cool boots c/o CallItSpring, some rockin' shades, my fave vintage YSL bucket bag, and a swipe of some red lipstick.
So, what do you think? I hope my look inspires you as much as I was inspired when I first saw this idea. If not, I hope I was able to show you how to easily mix some grunge pieces with some glam for a stylish look that's on-trend, and oh-so-comfortable. ;)
