I'm always a fan of some good lace, but I've actually never paired a lace top with a lace bottom. I love that the lace in the top is more of a delicate, eyelash lace, while the lace in the skirt is thicker and more stand-out. Both of these colors are perfect for summer, but just as appropriate into the fall - -especially this firey red skirt. I think it would look just as fab paired with a soft knit (like cashmere) and some tan ankle boots.

I was going to pair this look with a denim jacket, but then I remembered I had this rad olive-green utility jacket that also happened to be from BR. It was a match made in heaven. Especially after I adorned it with some of my fave vintage pieces -- this leather belt w/ a pop of leopard, and these fun brooches. Style tip: if you ever feel like your jacket or blazer (or even your sweater) needs a little extra something, try adding some pins. You can add one or two, or go crazy like I did and add a handful. ;) The look is quirky and fun, and definitely makes a statement.

P.S. If you don't already own a utility jacket, you MUST get one! It's such a closet staple, and perfect year-round, but it's especially great for layering in the fall and winter months. I always opt for olive-green (always love a good military-vibe and green is my fave color), but these jackets are usually are available in navy blues and khaki colors too!
