Q&A w/ Darcy, the shop owner



1.) Tell us a little about True Rebel Clothing shop.

True rebel started accidentally, I had drawn a trailing tattoo rose down a pair of jeans and had so many people stop and ask me where I got them that I started a company catering to funky tattoo wear. I am always taking things and redoing them and that is how I started with the accessories. I needed a necklace, wanted a big chunky statement style. Could not find one anywhere so I took apart 6 necklaces added some vintage pieces and had my first necklace, I sold it right off my neck at a charity function. It is so fun to do different designs and keep things fresh.

2.) What inspires you?

Everything inspires me, I can find inspiration getting my tire changed. If you look at the world like a child with the thought of anything is possible then you will see the possibility in all things and become overwhemled with inspiration.

3.) What is your fave item in your shop?

Right now I think my favorite piece in my shop would be The crystal butterfly necklace. Simply because the Butterfly is such a beautiful piece. It is very whimsical.

4.) What is your own personal style like?

My personal style changes so much from day to day. I like things that you will not see everywhere. One day I might wear ripped jeans rolled with a tank huge bib necklace and heels and the next wear a long boho dress with a small beaded necklace and strappy flat sandals. It really depends on my mood. That is why there are so many different styles in my shop.

5.) What type of girl do you envision wearing your pieces?

I envision my customers as girls who like to have fun with fashion. Wear things that are unique and wear them with attitude. Girls that are Rocker Chics, Hippy Boho girls, retro Pinup, and even trendy style seekers. I hope I will have something to appeal to any shopper.
