Hey lovelies!! I've been patiently waiting to debut the latest vintage swap to you all, and today I can! If you aren't familiar with "The Chain Gang Vintage Swap," then you must check out our past swaps: HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE (FYI- some of the photos might not show in full, since I have changed my layout since then). The Chain Gang was Tanya's creation, and it started early last year. Tanya contacted me, and we started to swap items back and forth. After a couple of swaps, Noa joined -- then Devon, and most recently: Jenn, Sarah, and Yola! The Swap is all about girls around the country sharing a vintage or thrift item by styling it, snapping photos of it, and then passing it on to the next girl. The goal of the swap is to inspire girls around the world to break out of their shells and give thrifting and vintage shopping a chance. It's amazing what you can snag from a vintage or thrift shop, and for SO cheap! {if you follow my blog regularly, then you know what I mean} We hope that, by each of us styling the piece in our own individual way, it will show the potential a thrift or vintage piece has -- and how much fun you can have with just one item! It really boils down to clothing and accessories in general. It's so much fun to style one piece multiple ways -- and as you can see, we've all styled this amazing sequin jacket in a unique way! Noa is the brains behind this fab sequin & beaded number, and you can see how it was created (yes, Noa transformed a top into this jacket) on her & Tanya's other blog: HERE.
Here's how I styled the sparkly jacket:
{tee: thrifted Lilly Pulitzer (similar styles HERE and HERE); leather skirt: vintage (love this Free People skirt HERE); sunnies: HoH1960 (get them in black or tortoise HERE); wedges: Zara}
**Want a chance to win this gorgeous jacket for yourself? Head on over to Noa's blog: SunsetandFifth to enter!! And be sure to visit each of these blogs to get a full story on how each of the Chain Gang sisters wore it: Tanya from NovemberGrey, Devon from DevonRachel, Jenn from TheSuburbExperiment, Sarah from LivingGoldie, and Yola from YolaThorp. xo!

sooo fun! love the pop of yellow you gave it, Jen! I love Jenn's, too. How the taupe plays off the sequins and that tassel necklace gives it a modern spin. I'd totally wear that!
ReplyDeleteGood job to everyone!

ReplyDeleteI couldn't have said it better myself. I'm so glad to be doing this with you, Jen. And now I can't imagine moving forward without you! You have been such a leader in this movement and I'm honored it's become what it has, largely due to YOUR devotion, talent and style! Excited for it to keep growing!
