Date Night Ready w/ C.O. Bigelow

Usually when you think about prepping for a date night it's focused on makeup, the perfect outfit, and styling your hair just right. We often neglect the beauty essentials that help prep our skin and can make us feel pampered all at the same time. When C.O. Bigelow asked me to take part in their Hot Date Essentials Campaign I was definitely down. For one, I've always been a fan of the C.O. Bigelow brand (hello Menthe Lip Shine -- so good), and secondly I was eager to try some of their products that I've never tried before.


I'm always on the hunt for a good shampoo and conditioner. Anyone with me? I feel it's not so easy to find that perfect formula that will cleanse our hair, but not strip it from it's natural oils and leave it dry. The C.O. Bigelow "Not Your Ordinary Daily Shampoo" and The C.O. Bigelow "Not Your Ordinary Daily Conditioner" is the answer. The shampoo is mild and is formulated to cleanse all hair types gently. It's blended with silk amino acids, conditioning Panthenol and Coconut Extract to impart shine, body and nourishment. The conditioner is light and silky and leaves hair shiny and knot-free (amen to that), without weighing it down with left over residue. It's comprised of weightless conditioning agents - including Soy and Wheat Protein, Mallow Extract, and Jojoba Oil - to replenish moisture, smooth hair and add lots of healthy-looking shine. And the scent? 100% natural coconut fragrance! So when you're getting close with your date, your hair will smell amazing, and what gal doesn't want that?




Next up is a product to exfoliate your skin. It's super important to exfoliate at least once a week to remove dead skin cells and keep skin looking smooth and healthy. Exfoliating your skin also helps to brighten your skin and helps your moisturizing lotion to seep even deeper. The C.O. Bigelow Lemon Sugar Body Scrub exfoliates and nourishes with a blend of pure Brown and White Sugar and skin-brightening Lemon Extracts. The smell is intoxicating, ya'll. I wish the internet had scratch-n-sniff ability because man it smelled so good. I used this product on my legs and arms and focused on my dryer areas, such as my knees and elbows. My skin felt baby soft when I was done. Who doesn't want touchable soft skin when they're going on a date with their significant other, right?



The exfoliating scrub was the perfect product to prep our skin for the next product - C.O. Bigelow Lemon Body Lotion. This lotion also smelled amazing and delivered the ultimate moisture to my skin. It's fortified with moisturizing Shea Butter and replenishing Kukui Nut Oil, to hydrate and brighten the skin. It's light-weight, is super charged with Vitamin C and left my skin feeling soft and replenished.



Now let's focus on the lips, which is probably the most important body part to focus on prior to date night, am I right? I mean, there's nothing worse than chapped, dry lips. Let's bring in the C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve. This product is not just for your lips y'all ... it's an all-purpose salve that can hydrate your lips, cuticles, face, knees, elbows, and any other dry skin patches. This product works so well and smells so yummy. It can last a really long time too, because you only need a little bit for it to work it's magic. It contains .9% rose extract, which helps ease irritation and condition the skin.


I used this product on my lips and also on my cuticles.



The final product of my prep is the an all-time C.O. Bigelow fave -- The C.O. Bigelow Menthe Lip Shine/Breath Freshener. If there's one product that has to be my fave of the bunch, it's this one for sure. All of my girlfriends love this product and my mom swears by it. It contains 2% peppermint oil that delivers a refreshingly cool sensation. Your lips feel moisturized and protected, while your it freshens your breath. I'd say that's a win win for date night, or any day or night really. Wouldn't y'all agree? More like a purse essential. I especially love this product in the winter months when my lips are most dry and chapped.



I finished off my look w/ my usual makeup products (foundation, concealer, powder, blush, eyeliner, mascara).

Finally, to finish off my date night look I put on one of my fave dresses, a fab statement necklace, some sexy heels and my look was complete!
