I don't think there's anything sexier than a bold red lip, who's with me? It makes such a statement, and when paired with the perfect red dress the look is nothing less than amazing. So, I'm sure y'all can understand my excitement when I received this super chic dress from The Swanky Stork. The Swanky Stork is a fab maternity boutique in Birmingham, AL. I styled a top from their shop last week on the blog HERE and today I challenged myself to style this dress two different ways. Although, it's more like 3 ways with the addition of the leather jacket (a leather jacket ups the edge and adds a bit of chic to anything, right)?
Since this dress is rather simple, I wanted to add some of my fave vintage accessories to really make it fun. I kept it minimal by staying in the black and gold family, so it wouldn't take away from the dress. First up, I went with one of my fave statement necklaces. A sparkly snake wrap necklace. This necklace is great because it can double as a belt too! I think it's the perfect mix of edgy meets chic, which is exactly where I wanted to go with styling this dress. Next, I ditched the statement necklace and opted for a statement belt. I am obsessed with this leather chain belt I scored while thrifting a few years ago. I seriously paid less than $5 for it -- such a score. I love the little tassel and the fact that it looks super high-end.
I finished off my look with a bold red lip (le duh), some killer shades (a must), and some simple cuffs.
What do y'all think about my two looks? Which one is your fave? P.S. This dress can be worn by ANYONE! Pre-baby, during pregnancy, and post-baby! The style is just perfect for any body type and guess what?! It's on sale for THIRTY DOLLARS, y'all! Seriously how good is that? It's being sold online right now for $250 on another site, but you can snag it for only $30 from The Swanky Stork! Talk about a STEAL!
Oh yes, red lips are my favourite "accessory" when I go out!!!
