This month marks Belle de Couture's 5th Birthday! I cannot believe how fast time has flown by. When I first started my blog in May 2010 it was my hobby, my little creative outlet to share my passion for fashion and styling, especially my vintage and thrift clothing. For the first 3 1/2 years of my blog I worked full time at a Defense Contractor in the Tampa Bay area (far from glamorous I know). However, I always managed to pour in a good amount of time into the blog because it was what I loved to do the most. Forward 1 and 1/2 years and now I'm living in the Panhandle again (where I grew up), raising my two sweet little girls at home, and now I'm working from home -- on the blog! When I first started the blog, I had no intention of making money or getting free product to review. It was really just my way of connecting with others around the world who loved what I loved, and also challenging myself and experimenting with fashion and trends. It's so fun to look back at my outfits through the years. My style has evolved so much, but one thing that has stayed true is that I am (and always will be) eclectic. My style will always be colorful, full of prints, and most importantly it will always be mixed with vintage and thrift. I'll never get tired of my treasure hunts to the thrift store and I hope to continue to be able to inspire all of you to have fun with fashion and try new things. Your style never has to be one "type" -- you can be classic prep one day and boho chic the next. Above all, always wear what makes YOU happy and wear what YOU love, because fashion should be fun and no one should feel like they're dressing for anyone other than themselves. Right?!
A big thanks to everyone who has supported me and my blog through the years. Your support and kind words have always brought a smile to my face. I'm thankful for the many awesome opportunities that have come my way through blogging, and I've made friends with some amazing people (some I've yet to even meet in person). It's crazy how much blogging and social media has grown and I know it will continue to evolve into something even bigger. Above all, I'm beyond blessed to have a husband that takes my pictures and puts up with my piles of clothes or boxes on the days I'm juggling two babies and a messy house. Without him, I wouldn't be able to bring my outfits to life. Thank you Justin Rand for all your hard work and supporting me and my dream. I love you!
P.S. Stay tuned for a fun week ahead, y'all! I have fun posts planned -- including awesome GIVEAWAYS with great brands! It's my way of saying THANK YOU for all the love and support throughout the years! Thank you for following along and taking this journey with me! :)
