Airbrush Makeup With Luminess Air

I recently had the opportunity to try airbrush makeup out for the first time. I know what y'all are probably thinking... airbrush makeup has been around for awhile, why has it taking you so long? To be honest 1.) I assumed it would be too difficult to do at home on my own and 2.) I felt that the coverage might look caked on and/or clog my pores. After reviewing the Luminess Air airbrush makeup system I realized my assumptions were so wrong.

For those of you that may be new to airbrush makeup, it's a makeup that is sprayed on your face as a gently mist. It covers your skin just like any other foundation would, except the result is a more natural looking, flawless finish. What are the benefits of Luminess Air makeup? Well, aside from the natural looking finish, the product is very hygienic. It's oil and talc free, mineral and water based, and it works well on all skin types. It also minimizes the appearance of blemishes, uneven skin tone, and wrinkles. Just like any other foundation, airbrush makeup can be applied for light to maximum coverage, depending on the look you want to achieve. It also lasts for up to 10 hours, so you don't have to worry about having to reapply makeup throughout the day or night. It stays put!

Before I started using the Luminess Air system, I watched a helpful DVD tutorial that was included in my shipment. It was quick to watch and showed me exactly how to use the system, as well as the best way to apply the makeup to my skin.
The first step is to start with a clean face and then apply the primer. The primer helps prep the skin for makeup application and will help to keep your makeup in place all day.

Luminess Air sent me two shades of foundation -- shade 2 and 3 in the Satin finish. "The Satin Airbrush Foundation gives the most flawless finish with sheer to full coverage minus the appearance of thick or cakey makeup. The Satin line of airbrush foundations is great for individuals with dry skin types; hydrating skin for a dewy and supple look." Before applying foundation all of my face, I sprayed both shades on the side of my face. I went with the shade that blended naturally into my skin, which was shade 3. It says to use 4-8 drops, depending on the coverage you want to achieve. I went with about 5-6 drops to achieve my coverage.

I couldn't believe how natural and flawless my skin looked after one application. It looked like my skin, but better!

After foundation, comes blush in Tulip-3n! Just 2-3 drops were needed. I sprayed color onto the apples of my cheeks, at my hairline, nose and chin! The result was a natural looking flush of color.

Next was my favorite part: Brightening Glow in G1. I sprayed this product onto my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose, at my cupid's bow and on my brow bone. I loved the glow it instantly gave my skin!

I finished off my look with some translucent powder (optional), eye makeup, and lipstick!

I was more than pleased with the look of my makeup after using the Luminess Air system. I loved how lightweight the product felt on my skin. It gave me a nice flawless finish, but still looked natural and not caked-on. I couldn't get over how easy it was to use the system. I honestly thought it would take me forever to get the hang of it, but it was easy from the start! I love how compact the system is as well, so if I want to take it with me when I'm traveling it's easy to pack-up.

So, what do y'all think of my look? Have you ever tried airbrush makeup? If so, what are your thoughts about it? Do you like it better than regular foundation?
