Taking care of my skin has always been important to me, especially when it comes to my face. I suffered from cystic acne in high school and also after college, so I've used Accutane (Isotretinoin) twice in my life. Though my skin was pretty oily growing up, the use of Accutane and other acne medications through the years + the aging process in general (I'm 31 now) has made my skin pretty dry. As a blogger, I am lucky to have the opportunity to review many different beauty and skincare products, but sometimes that can be a challenge. I'm sure you can all agree that, when you have a specific skincare routine that you follow, sometimes introducing new products can irritate your skin. I've had that happen to me countless times and I almost always find myself going back to those products that are tried and true, and well, just work for me!
When given the opportunity to review the Lumixyl Trifecting Night Cream, I was hesitant at first. I have a few products that I use religiously at night, so I was nervous about introducing a new product into the mix. However, a good night cream is pretty hard to find -- I mean, I need one that will not only hydrate my skin, but one that will prevent/treat acne, as well as fight aging -- so I figured, why not?
What initially made me excited to try Lumixyl was the fact that it treats 3 skin concerns that most of us all have: dark spots, fine lines and blemishes. I was also really pleased to read that Lumixyl contains retinol. I've used retinol plenty of times since high school, so I'm not new to the product. If you don't already know the benefits of using a retinol, there are many. It encourages cell turnover to fade the appearance of signs of aging and damage, it also creates a smoother texture and more even skin tone. It even helps unclogs pores, as well as heal and prevent blemishes. Lumixyl contains Bisabolol, which soothes and heals the skin to help reduce redness and inflammation caused by breakouts. The Lumixyl formula also contains Decapeptide-12, which are brightening ingredients that reduce excess melanin in the skin. It also helps to fade the appearance of dark spots, creating a more even skin tone. There are two strengths available in this cream (0.2 and 1.0), so it's ideal for most skin types.
I've been using Lumixyl Trifecting Night Cream 0.2 for about 2 weeks now and I have already seen significant results. Not only does my skin look brighter and my overall complexion more even, but my break outs have gone down significantly. I've even noticed the lines on my forehead have become less noticeable. I also really love how this product has diminished the size of my pores. Overall my skin feels softer, my complexion more even and vibrant, and my breakouts have decreased.
