2 Easy Summer Hairstyles With Garnier Whole Blends

Summer is right around the corner and warmer temps call for easy hairstyles that are cute and will keep you nice and cool. I don’t know about y’all, but summer time allows me to be lazy with my hair, but that’s a good thing. Why? Because that means I’m not using my heat styling products as often and that equals less damage to my blonde locks.

I recently started using Garnier Whole Blends Hair Care products to give my damaged hair the TLC it craves. The Garnier Whole Blends Hair Care Line comes in a variety of treatments that are specific to your hair care needs. I love the Garnier Whole Blends Repairing Hair Care System in Honey Treasures. It’s a shampoo, conditioner and repairing mask that are enriched with royal jelly, honey and propolis extracts. These products help strengthen my hair while healing the damage caused by heat styling products. Immediately after using the Garnier Whole Blends products my hair felt soft and more manageable. Oh, and the honey smell is SO good!

Today I’m sharing with y’all two hairstyles that I love to create during the hot summer months. They can take you from the beach to an evening out with family or friends. They don’t take a lot of time to create and the best part is that they don’t have to look perfect. These looks are all about that effortless bohemian vibe, so don’t worry about bumps or fly-aways.

I started with wavy locks that were a couple days old. A great way to get waves (without using heat styling tools) is to braid your hair (loosely) and then sleep on it overnight. Wake up, take the braids out, brush out your hair and you’ll have nice waves.

When doing a Dutch braid you cross the pieces of hair under eachother (instead of over, like a French braid). I like to leave some of my bangs out, but if you prefer to pull your entire bangs into the braid then do whichever you prefer. When doing a side braid, pull hair from the inside (near the bangs) to add to the braid and don’t worry about bringing hair in from the other side of the braid. This way the braid stays close to the head and you can easily guide it around your head as you braid. (I’m not the best at explaining these steps, so I really hope my photos are helpful)

After using an elastic to tie off the braid, I like to pull the braid apart from top to bottom to loosen it up. I bobby pin it at the back of my head and then I cover my hair over the bobby pins, so they’re hidden.

This second look is perfect for transitioning into the evening. It's also great for weddings (day or night). What I love about this look is that it begins with the first look and only takes a couple of tweaks and then you're done!

For this look, you start by twisting a small portion of the hair on the other side of your head (opposite side of the braid). Pull hair into the twist as you’re twisting (just like you do with a braid). Once you reach the back of your head, bobby pin the twist so it stays in place. Then gather the hair on the braided side. Twist and bobby pin in the back of your head. You can twist into a bun or just twist and turn the hair upwards then pin. My hair isn’t very long in the back, so I couldn’t really achieve a twisted bun look, but as I said above, this look is supposed to look effortless so it’s OK if there are some flaws. After the braided side is pinned, do the same with the twisted side. Gather all the hair, twist and pin in the back of your head.

Finish the look by pulling pieces of hair out from around your face and the nape of your neck. This helps play into the relaxed boho vibe. P.S. For extra style points, add some pretty pins or flowers in your hair.

So, what do you think about my summer hairstyles? Would you give them a whirl? Also, if you’re interested in trying out the new Garnier Whole Blends Hair Care Line yourself, you can check out the entire line here. Which blend would you try? If you're interested in purchasing these products, you can find them at your local Walmart. I snapped some photos of the aisle where it's located, as well as the display so you can help you locate it in your Walmart store.
