Vogue has said that 2016 is the year of cowboy boots and before you start to cringe, you'd be quite surprised how fashion-forward these boots can look. Cowboy boots aren't just for country concerts or football games, now we're seeing them paired with modern pieces that are keeping them fresh and totally on trend. Just take a cue from top blogger Chiara Ferragni -- the girl can do no wrong.

I was born in AZ and was raised in the South, so I've been around cowboy boots all of my life. I've always been a fan, but to be honest, I haven't worn a pair since college. Mainly because I just haven't been inspired to wear them in a fashion-forward way. That was, until I discovered Tecovas Boots on Instagram. I was instantly smitten. They're boots are classic and high quality and have a modern look that makes them super versatile. Oh, and the price tag will surprise you. A good pair of cowboy boots will run you anywhere between $400 all the way up to $1,000, depending on the brand, style and materials. Tecovas Boots are $235 and under!! {Sayyy whattt??!} Too good, right?! Their boots are made of calfskin and have a beautiful hand corded pattern. "The Jamie" boot (the style I'm wearing) is your classic cowgirl boot and "The Penny" is a more modern boot, due to it's shorter style. Both styles come in three different colors -- Bourban Calf, Midnight Calf and Desert Calf. I went with the Midnight Calf because I felt it had more of an edgy slash chic vibe, which is totally me. I also felt the black is a color most girls would shy away from when purchasing a cowboy boot, so I wanted to show that they are just as versatile as your go-to brown or tan.

After reading this article I was totally inspired to create three fashion-forward looks based on the cowboy boot. If you're a long-time follower of mine, then you already know I love to experiment with different styles and looks. I love it when a reader tells me they weren't into a trend or didn't think they could pull off a particular style until they saw how I styled it. Although the cowboy boot is having a trendy moment, it will always be a classic to me, so I really was focused on creating looks that were very "ME". Basically outfits that I wear on the regular. Hopefully my looks are very wearable for you too! ;)

My first look is perfect for day or night. Instead of reaching for your usual ankle boot style, switch things up with a pair of cowboy boots. Every gal has a maxi dress (or skirt) in their closet. Add your favorite accessories to really make the look "you". I added my fave belt of the moment, the double-buckle belt by B-Low The Belt and finished it off with a fun fringe bag and simple choker. This look is very boho-chic because of the print and accessories, but I would also pair these boots with a midi-length skirt (I have a pencil style I am going to wear with these boots next) and a graphic tee. Just try on your fave dresses and skirts and see which style is the most comfortable for you. The outfit shouldn't feel forced.

My second look is another easy option because every gal owns a pair of denim shorts (and cut-offs are even better). I always gravitate towards tribal prints (if you follow me on the regular then you know I'm kind of obsessed), so this new embroidered boho top was the perfect pairing for me. Since denim shorts are very casual, opt for dressier tops with ruffles, embroidery or other unique details to help balance out the look. Finish it off with your fave sunnies and go-to crossbody bag and you're good to go!

My third look is what I like to call, "Tomboy Chic". I paired one of my fave vintage-style tanks with some distressed moto jeans and a sleek black vest. I finished the look with another fave accessory of the moment: the neckerchief. This outfit is edgy and laid-back, but polished enough that it doesn't look too casual.

Which look is your fave? I'd love to know! Also, are you a fan of the cowboy boot, if so how do you style yours? I'm always looking for new ways of styling them!
