I know it’s not often that I open up about motherhood or my family in general, but with Mother’s Day approaching it felt right to share some of my joys and struggles of being a mom. Let’s face it, being a mom can be absolutely wonderful and super frustrating at the same time. Before I had my second daughter I worked in the corporate world for a defense contractor. I loved my job, but couldn’t wait to get home to be with my daughter, Courtney. Since moving back to my hometown of Niceville and having another child, I have left the 8-5 job and now stay at home and focus on the girls and my blog. It’s a blessing to be able to stay at home with them and also do what I love (blogging), but some days are beyond stressful. Being a mom is tough as it is, especially to two littles ones under the age of 5, but throw working from home in the mix and it gets even busier and more stress induced.

I feel as moms, we never give ourselves a break. My girlfriend and I talk about the topic quite frequently – “mother’s guilt”. I feel we always have guilt whether we work away from home, whether we are a stay-at-home mom, or whether we’re juggling work from home and kids. I think we always wonder if we’re being the best mom that we can be for our kids. Are we giving them enough attention? Showing them enough love? Teaching them and preparing them enough for the world? Disciplining them too much or not enough? It’s easy to get down on ourselves and tell ourselves that we need to do more or less, but it’s time to start patting ourselves on the back and realizing how great of a mom we really are.

I want to celebrate all mom’s out there. Being a mom is the toughest (but greatest) job of all and I wouldn’t trade my life for anything. Even as I type this post, with screaming kids in the background, I feel immensely blessed to be their mama.

REEDS is a family owned jewelry for many generations and they’re celebrating Motherhood in all phases whether you’re a new mom, a grandmother, or a husband and child celebrating a wife and mom. REEDS jewelry is a great way to say thank you for everything that mom’s do for their family. You can’t say Mother’s Day without a special gift and what’s more special than jewelry from REEDS? Today I’m wearing pieces that might not seem like your typical Mother’s Day jewelry, but their pieces the girl’s and my husband picked out for me and they're pieces that represent my style. I love nothing more than receiving jewelry that I know I will wear over and over again, and these pieces are pretty enough for a special occasion, yet perfect enough for everyday wear.

  1. Yep... I agree with you... I think that we all have a "mother's guilt" feeling going on all the time and I don't think that it will ever "leave" us. It's just a part of everyday, "modern life", can't escape it.
On to the outfit... You look absolutely breathtaking in this minimalistic and elegant jumpsuit! Wow!

  5. When I first saw the snap of this outfit on Insta, I thought it was a dress. Even better as a jumpsuit! Thanks for sharing about your life and motherhood journey. Although I haven't experienced mom guilt myself, I know it's real from seeing friends and family experience it.

  6. Such a great and honest post, Jennifer! I totally hear you! Ever since I went full-time with my blog, and work from home now + being a mother to a 4 year old I can relate to being extremely busy! It's hard sometimes when I try and work but my son wants to play! Hence I need to get up extra early and finish my work early in the morning so, I can take care of him and spend quality time with son in the afternoon! And let's not get started on the house work...lol! Anyhow, you look lovely, Jennifer! I love your look, so chic! Oh, and the last picture is just the cutest!
