Desk Refresh with Fab.Com!

As a stay-at-home mom, that also works from home, it’s always been important for me to have my own work space (even if it’s not in an actual room). If you’re a follower of mine then you know I have two young kids under the age of 4, so it’s crucial that I have a work area where I can watch them at the same time. I wish I could knock out all my work while they’re napping, but it’s pretty impossible with the amount of work I have to get done. So, our big Florida room (aka the playroom) has also turned into my work space. It’s actually pretty ideal. I have a corner spot with a desk and window overlooking the backyard. If they want to play in the sandbox or swing set then I can still keep an eye on them.

Since my “office” also happens to be in their playroom, I’ve steered clear of putting a bunch of knick knacks on my desk (even though I am SUCH a knick knack person and SO want to decorate my desk with them).

I was recently introduced to this awesome e-commerce site – Fab.com, which is full of unique items by a variety of tastemakers that you can refresh any space in your home with. I actually considered styling these pieces in my living room, but when my package arrived I suddenly thought, “These would be perfect for my desk!” If you follow me on Instagram then you probably already know my obsession with anything southwest-inspired. I was born in AZ and lived there until I was 11, so I’ve always had a love for cacti-anything, as well as fun, tribal prints. When I first set eyes on this rad Cactus Vase by Serax I knew I had to have it. I always have flowers arranged in vases around my home (I love how it instantly adds cheer to a space), so this is definitely a product I will use daily. I also love how big it is – if definitely makes a statement. It would also be great as a centerpiece for a dining room table.

Then I found this awesome Silvia Mini Pendant Light & Swag Kit by Vita. I LOVE copper pieces and I also have a fondness for unique lighting, so this was also an instant fave for me. This lamp is the perfect size for over my desk, but would also be great over a kitchen island or breakfast nook. It provides the perfect amount of lighting when I’m working in the evenings, plus it’s just so cool to look at!! Definitely a conversation piece.

My final item from Fab.com is a common piece, but necessary and also super fun. It’s this “Gotta Lotta Prada” mug by Luxury Rap. Let’s face it, I need my caffeine just like everyone else and if I’m going to be working from home (and I can’t run to Starbucks on the daily) then a cool mug is the next best thing. Plus, I’m a fashion blogger, so the saying (which is from a rap song) couldn’t be more fitting.

I love how these three pieces instantly add some personality to my simple space. I love that Fab.com has a variety of items to choose from, so no matter your sense of style (or sense of humor) you are sure to find some pieces to liven up your home or office.
