Summer Vibes with Sally Beauty

Summer time is all about effortless beauty -- that just-off-the-beach bronzed skin and salty wavy hair. I recently visited my local Sally Beauty to pick up some summer must-haves. These are all products that can easily take you from the beach or pool to dinner and drinks. {Read more after the jump!}

I went with 4 desert-tone hues to create the perfect summery eye. // Hot Tools "Marcel Iron" -- my GO-TO and FAVE hair tool for creating effortless, beachy waves!



First I apply the Ion Swimmer's Leave in Conditioner. Although I blow-dryed my hair afer applying this, you could easily apply this at the beach or pool and let your hair air dry.





Then I curled my hair with a Hot Tools 1" Marcel Iron (my FAVE when it comes to creating waves). I curl away from my face and I like to leave an inch or so at the bottom so the waves have a more undone look to them. After I curl each section, I spray the Beyond The Zone "Beach Head" for added texture. It contains salt, so it's a great way to "fake" the beachy wave look without actually swimming in the ocean. It also provides great volume!



Then I finish by spraying my locks with the Beyond The Zone "Rock On: Flexible Hairspray". This product keeps my style looking great, without leaving my locks stiff or crunchy. I also make sure to separate any tight curls, as well as running my fingers through all my strands to loosen everything up.



Then on to makeup! I'm going for that summer "beachy" vibe, so bronzed, glowing skin, sunset hues, and shimmery nudes/mauves! I started my look with a CC cream (which is perfect for the summer because it's light-weight). I love 2 in 1 products (who doesn't, right?), so this Bitzy Bronzer Blush duo in "Sugar N' Spice" is a great product for summer. It gives off the prettiest pinkish-peach glow.



Next is lips! Love these two colors by Bitzy! They are "In The Nude" and "Antique". I usually don't like shimmery lip products, but these offer just enough without being over the top. It really plays into that overall bronzed, "kissed by the sun" look. I love how light-weight they are as well. Not heavy or sticky.



Last step (and my fave part) is the eyes! Loving the Ardell Brow Pomade. It's such a great blonde shade and it lasts all day! The brush/spooly works so well too!
Metallic and sunset lids are huge this season. I chose the colors: Subtle Flare, Mauve Over, Queen of Creme, and Princess of Persia. I finished them off with some of the bronze from the bronze blush duo compact to really play up the desert tones.
A few swipes of mascara and my eyes are done!



So what do y'all think of my overall look? If the Marcel Iron is too difficult for you (it does take some time to learn) you can duplicate this with any flat or curling iron. If you have naturally wavy locks you can also just let your hair air-dry after applying the leave-in-conditioner, and then add texture with the salt spray. My hair is naturally wavy, but I get more volume when I dry it and curl it. After I curl it I can get 2-3 days without washing it, and if I visit the beach or pool within those days, I just like to add more salt spray to my locks to keep the texture going.
