If there’s one themed post I enjoy doing the most, it’s definitely day-to- night looks. I love sharing unique looks with y’all, as well as showing the versatility of items in your closet. Believe it or not, the majority of items sitting in your closet right now can be worn day or night, with just a few tweaks. Heck, you can even get away with rockin’ that leather mini and lace top with a pair of sneaks – anything goes these days. So, when >JTV.com asked me to share my day-to-night look with a few of my fave pieces from their site, you better believe I was game.

One of the easiest options for day-to-night dressing (especially in the summer time) is a dress. If it’s going to be worn day and night, then it should have a few qualities that make it effortless, but chic at the same time. I typically go for fabrics that are light, and flowy. The less structured the better because then it doesn’t look like you’re trying to force a dressier look during the day. You’d be surprised how dressed up even the most casual dress can be with adding a great pair of shoes and some rad accessories. It also needs to fit well. You always have to keep your proportions in mind when dressing, especially when styling a day-time piece for night. For instance, a shapeless maxi dress can easily look like you’re wearing a sack … which sometimes can work for the day – easy, comfortable and looks great with sandals. Not so easy to polish it up for night if the fit is off.

I’m always a fan of jewelry – I can’t dress for the day without my key pieces and I love how the right pieces can really make an outfit shine. >JTV.com has a beautiful assortment of >necklaces, >bracelets, and >earrings to choose from – most of which are perfect for day-to-night dressing.

For my necklace, I went with the >Splendido Oro 14k Yellow Gold Multi-Strand Triangle Lariat Necklace because lariats are one of my absolute fave styles of necklaces to wear. The chain is dainty and delicate, but the overall look is anything but simple or basic. It’s the type of necklace I can wear peeking out from a button-up at work, to a v-neck tee on the weekend. I love how pretty it looks with this off-the-shoulder dress. For my bracelet, I went with the >10k Yellow Gold Bamboo Stampato Link 1 ½ Inch Bracelet. I love the classic look of this piece, and the bamboo reminds me so much of a vintage piece I would find while thrifting. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good arm stack, but sometimes less is more and this piece can stand by itself any day. Finally (and my fave of all) are the earrings. I really believe a great pair of earrings can instantly make you look and feel fabulous. It’s the one accessory that I feel jazzes up an outfit the most and these >Splendido Oro Hematine Bead Stations 14k Yellow Gold Colori Earrings are so beautiful and unique. I love that their posts, so they stay snug on my ear. Also love how light they are -- they’re the lightest drop earrings that I own!

My day-to-night look took no effort at all. My dress is perfect for sandals and sunnies for running around on the weekend (lunch, farmer’s market, shopping etc.), and can be easily styled for an evening out on the town. To switch things up for the evening, I ditched the sunnies, added a vintage clutch (more glam than my bamboo day clutch), some ankle strap heels, and the beautiful pieces from >JTV.com. The jewelry really helped to dress up this easy frock, and made me feel beautiful and glam without looking over the top. I’m typically a believer that more is more, but the older I get the more I see the importance of investing in great pieces for your closet and jewelry box, and they don’t have to be super bold, on trend, or statement making. Pieces that will stand the test of time, and pieces that can carry you from outfit to outfit are where it’s at. And it’s even better when those pieces are simple, yet stunning at the same time. I’m all about those effortless-chic vibes, ya’ll! 😉

What do you think about my day-to-night look? I’d love to hear your ideas in the comments below on how you transform your OOTD’s to OOTN’s.
